Book Consultation

Whether you are writing a novel or interested in creating a coffee table book, a dedicated consultation provides the focused, strategic time needed to resolve creative challenges and answer complex publishing questions.
To maximize our time together, you will complete a brief intake form in advance of our call. This allows for a preliminary review of your vision and project goals, ensuring I have the context needed to offer tailored advice.
During our 30 minute call, you ask me any questions about writing, publishing, book production, or anything else related, and I offer honest feedback and provide you with actionable next steps.
Story Diagnosis

Is your story stuck? Are you feeling frustrated with your first draft, second draft, or lost in the muddy middle? Are you enthusiastic about your world, plot twist, or ending, but aren’t sure how to guide the reader? A story diagnosis is ideal for writers in the throes of their writing journey who want to discuss their creative ideas with a trusted professional.
In advance of our 60 minute call you send up to 5,000 words of material and fill out a brief intake form that helps me get to know you.
During our call, we will discuss your story, plot twists, character arcs, and any other world-building and questions you have. You will leave feeling empowered to fix and finish the story only you can tell! A 250 word written analysis is included.
Editorial Assessment
$249 + .05/word
Have you finished, or partially finished, a book and want a professional to read it? An editorial assessment is ideal for writers who want to discuss how their book is working as a whole, where and how it fits into the market, and what to do next.
You send a partial or finished work of at least 25,000 words and fill out a brief intake form that helps me get to know you.
I read the entire work. In our 30 minute call, I answer your questions as well as provide next step guidance and actionable feedback. A 250 word written analysis is included.

Picture Book Assessment

Have you written a picture book and aren’t sure what to do next? Do you want a professional to read and evaluate your text and /or art? A picture book consultation is an ideal way to assess the story, pacing, character arcs, and themes of your story.
You send up to 1000 words of picture of text, any relevant art, and fill out a brief form that helps me get to know you.
In our 30 minute phone call, I provide a thorough verbal assessment, answer your questions and provide you with actionable next steps to edit, art direct, and storyboard effectively.
